Was the Democrat party.

They thought black people were “less than” and not worthy of equal treatment under the law. To Democrats, black people weren’t human, they were sub-human.

50 years later we have a Democrat party that attacks black people who refuse to subscribe to leftist ideology, as Leftists believe all minorities/people who belong to “oppressed groups” who are not liberal have “betrayed their people” and are “not really” black/Latino/gay/female/etc. etc. etc.

We have a Democrat party who believes and advocates that a human’s personhood can be denied if one other human wishes it so.

No equal protection under the law.

Runs a little contrary to the Democrats’ claims that they care about “the little guy” who can’t defend himself. Runs a little contrary to the claim of championing “human rights.” Runs a little contrary to the claim of advocating “equality.” And yes, runs contrary to the claim that they want to protect “all life, all nature.”

Because wow, what’s more natural than a species reproducing???

Okay first of all, you are right, the Democrats were that party but the tidbit that you seem to be missing here is that somewhere along the line party ideologies switched. The modern day ideologies of each party was the opposite, but the names stuck. I know it sounds really good to you to say that the Democrats had really shitty ideas about human rights back in the day, but what you’re failing to address is the shift in views and the adoption by the Republican party of those views. Doesn’t it seem strange to you that most of the former slave states vote Republican these days?

Also, equal protection under the law, while protecting the rights of a fetus, would still also protect the rights of the person carrying the fetus. Think about that. A fetus having all the basic human rights fully autonomous people do would not allow for a fetus to use another person’s body against their will, the same as another autonomous human is not able to use my body against my will. It’s a violation of rights. If you were to argue that the right to life is more important than the right to govern your own body, suddenly it would be you deciding for other people which rights are more important and which rights can be violated.

And finally, I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from, but liberals/Democrats definitely not believe that women, LGBTQ* individuals, or a people of color who have conservative/Republican ideologies are any less of their sex, gender, sexual identity, or race. It’s kind of impossible to think “Man, that black girl is a Republican so obviously she isn’t really black or a girl.” Your political beliefs do not have any bearing on your sex, gender, sexual preferences, or race. I’m really curious to see an example of a left leaning person saying that a black person isn’t really a black person because they lean right or any other ridiculous example you gave.

Whatever the outcome of the trial of a Philadelphia doctor, the bigger crime is what women seeking abortions had to endure.

People not wanting to see graphic these graphic pictures does not mean they are in any way denying the truth of abortion. I’m willing to bet that these anti-choicers are the same kind of people who wouldn’t appreciate something like graphic sex acts  blown up on to posters and plastered outside of schools, but why not? Adults have sex. A lot of adults have kinky sex. Kids grow into adults. The truth is awful and you’d rather avoid it?

Also, I’d love to see what kind of ‘information’ these people are handing out because I’m also willing to bet that it contains misleading and flat out false information just as most anti-choice info graphics/pamphlets/books/movies/etc do. I’m willing to bet these people don’t promote safe sex or distribute any kind of sexual health information to kids to help ensure that they have the tools to have safe, consensual sex and to protect themselves against unwanted pregnancies, STI’s, etc.

I’m wiling to bet these people are actually doing nothing to help reduce abortion rates nor are they trying to spread factual information to help other people protect themselves and make the best choices for themselves. All they’re doing it seems like is creative toxic and uncomfortable atmospheres for school children.
